28 educational leaders from the Netherlands visited Mansfield to find out more about the award winning work of the Mansfield Learning Partnership brokering employer links with local schools to deliver a high quality Career and Employability Programme.

​Career Champions support employability skills workshops!

Career Champion Archi Stewart, Commercial Director of Crawford Strategic, delivered a motivational talk to 260 Year 10 students from The Brunts Academy on Thursday 13th February. Archi concluded his talk with this top tip “nervousness has the same symptoms as excitement, so the next time you’re nervous, stop and say to yourself “I’m excited”.

Can you Help? Old BMX Bikes needed to re-engage young people!

Queen Elizabeth’s Academy is trying to set up a bike/BMX refurbishment programme in School to help re-engage students into fitness and to help build confidence and self-esteem.

They are trying to source several old BMX bikes to teach students how to refurbish.

Forty eight Year 9 students had the opportunity to take part in an Enterprise Skills Workshop at All Saints RC School last week.

All Saints RC School are part of the Mansfield Learning Partnership (MLP) which provides students exposure to real life work experience to develop young peoples’ employability skills.

Award Winning Career Champions Team building the workforce for the future!

Since the successful launch in August 2013, the Career Champions board have gone from strength to strength not to mention award winning!

The Career Champions Board (CCB) was established by the Mansfield 2020 Business Liaison Group as a vehicle to oversee the development and implementation of the Careers and Employability Framework and report to back to the Mansfield 2020 Board and Mansfield Heads of schools.

The CCB is made up of Berni Dickinson (Mansfield Learning Partner­ship), Caroline Cox (Mansfield 2020), Katrina Atherton (A-Star Media) and Stephen Thirkill (Chad).
