Mansfield & Ashfield 2020 together we mean business

The importance of supporting young people and providing opportunities through the Arts should not be underestimated. However, in the present financial times it is getting harder and harder for some schools to afford to pay for workshops.

The purpose of this letter is to ask if you would be interested in supporting our Education work at Mansfield Palace Theatre and therefore young people in our local community. We hope that you would agree that this is a cause that would be aligned to the ethos of your organisation.

Education @ The Palace offers a range of supportive educational opportunities for the people of Mansfield as part of its mission to introduce the arts to local disadvantaged communities. Apart from offering some support via talks and workshops in-house, we reach many young people through our Youth Theatre and our engagement with schools and colleges.

Equally, it is important that we keep the work of our Youth Theatre going because of the social, aspirational and confidence building skills it offers. It provides young people of the area with the opportunities to get involved in something engaging, fun and worthwhile.

We have identified finance to be the main stumbling block for a number of schools to offer workshops. If a sponsor could be found to relieve the pressure by paying part or all of the cost, this would enable many children in some of the most disadvantaged areas to benefit.

I have set out some packages which may interest you on the attached leaflet. They are not set in stone and are subject to negotiation to reach an agreement that suited you and your business.

The sponsorship packages would last the academic year from now until July 2018. As well as website and social media promotion, there would be the opportunity to be included in the Education pages of two brochures – January to March 2018 and April to July 2018.

Once you have had the chance to consider the proposals, I would be delighted if I could have a further conversation to focus your interest on how you would like to specifically sponsor the work of Education @ The Palace. I can be contacted by Tel: 01623 412921 or by Email:

I look forward to the possibility of hearing from you in the near future. There is an urgency about this in order to maximise the benefit to both the schools and the sponsor. Christopher Neil, Education Manager, Mansfield Palace Theatre
