Record-breaking Junior Swimmer Elliot Clogg from Clipstone, Nottinghamshire, will enjoy a year of sponsored motoring from Ron Brooks Toyota Mansfield. The company have supplied Elliot with free use of a new Toyota AYGO x-press, which will help him make the twice-daily 60-mile round-trip to the National Training Centre in Loughborough as part of an intense training regime.

The demanding training programme involves 4:30am starts Monday-Friday for 48 weeks of the year and Elliot fits all this in around college work & organising meal plans & nutrition.

The AYGO x-press has been liveried up with gold decals, in keeping with the athletics tradition of “going for gold”. The economical 1.0-litre petrol engine averages up to 68.9mpg while the city-car proportions and easy driving style makes the AYGO perfect for young drivers – 17 year old Elliot only passed his driving test in June this year.

Elliot holds the British Junior Records for the 50m, 100m and 200m backstroke in a 25 metre pool as well as the English Junior record for the 100m Freestyle. His dream is to swim at international level and is targeting making the national squad for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo – of which Toyota Motor Corporation are a global sponsor.

The agreement began in August and runs for an initial 12 months.
