Mansfield & Ashfield 2020 together we mean business

​Just days until the 2020 Business Awards 2017

The countdown is on for the 2020 business awards 2017 that celebrates the best in business within Mansfield and Ashfield.

2020 recruited independent judges to help shortlist local businesses that represent industries including retail, technology, construction and service sectors. Winners will be revealed on Friday 28th April at the prestigious 2020 business awards and ball held at the Fretwell centre, Mansfield from 6.45pm – Midnight.

In recent years Mansfield and Ashfield emerged as number two in the UK for the expansion of professional services, R&D firms and technology companies. And it is in the top ten for SME growth out of all 64 cities in the UK. These facts are clearly reflected in 2020’s business award finalists for 2017.

Leading businesses and business leaders have been announced as finalists for this year’s 2020 Business awards. The finalists are industrially diverse and include: REAL education, Pellacraft, The Children’s Bereavement Centre, Chic Boutique, The Beauty Chain, i-Sourcer, Direct Repairs, Academy Transformation Trust Further Education, SMB Media Partnership, Forrest Williams Solicitors, Pendragon Training Academy, County Battery Services, The Evolve Trust, Purpose Media, Infinite AV Ltd, Sauce and Brown, Your Safety PAL, Fibresands International, Claytons of Mansfield, Banner Jones Solicitors, Party 2 go, Mansfield District Council, Sherwood Knowledge.

The judging panel line up included Mike Taylor, Mansfield Building Society, Jane Box, Interactive People Development, Stephen Denham, Lloyds TSB. The judges commented on the 2017 entries: ‘These finalists represent some of the most innovative, inspiring businesses and entrepreneurs Mansfield and Ashfield has to offer. The process has inspired all of us and made us all feel extremely proud of our business community. There genuinely was a high calibre of finalists that made it very difficult to judge each category.

Operations Director Caroline Cox shared ‘This is the 11th 2020 business awards we have hosted and they continue to go from strength to strength. We’ve received a record number of applications demonstrating our business community have a lot to be proud of and we want to celebrate! Our guests will enjoy a wonderful evening of entertainment, celebrations and family spirit.’

The awards event is an annual social event for the business community that would not be made possible without the support of 2020’s key headline sponsors: Mansfield Building Society, Jephson Shopfitters, TIS – they play a key role from the entertainment, drinks and venue. Our award sponsors The Evolve Trust, Fidler and Pepper, Purpose Media, REAL Education, Ron Brooks (Mansfield), Ashfield Effluent Services and Southwell Racecourse.

They give us the ability to provide a variety of categories suitable for diverse sectors. We also have the support from local suppliers that provide their services from Vision West Nottinghamshire College, AdB Audio Visual Ltd, John Fretwell Centre, Mandarin Creative Solutions and media support from the Chad, Mansfield 103.2 radio and Mansfield and Ashfield News Journal.

The winner of the 2020 Outstanding Contribution Award will be announced on the night. This award will be issued to an individual that has brought lasting financial and non-financial benefits to the area through their efforts.

The room will be decorated by Designs by Daykin, Entertainment will be provided throughout evening by the Midlands greatest close up magician Starman Magic - Carl Leek and Beefys caricatures will be creating memorable and fun portraits. Guests will also enjoy live music from the band Hypertones.
