Mansfield & Ashfield 2020 together we mean business

2020 Asking Members to Have Your Say with Local Business Issues!

For over 25 years the 2020 business group has offered key information to members on a range of local issues and is actively involved in lobbying on behalf of members to support the business community.

In 2011 Mansfield and Ashfield 2020 formed the business group called Business Liaison group (BLG) to give the business community the opportunity to meet and voice concerns and discuss how to improve the working conditions in Mansfield and Ashfield.

Initial projects included Broadband Connectivity, Education, Skills, and positive PR for the area.

The BLG group activities were supported by loyal business leaders and local district councils. The group’s achievements included driving digital champions for the best broadband network in the town before the rest of the country. Bridging the gap between local young people and the business community to raise aspiration and nurture the future workforce – to name but a few.

Previous business group meetings demonstrated that business confidence is up and there is a lot of optimism out there for not just business owners but for Mansfield and Ashfield as a place to do business.

After an operational break and due to demand from businesses on the 2nd May, 8.30am 2020 are relaunching the Business Group as the ‘2020 Members Focus Group’ with a strategy to be the hub for business issues, direction, growth and support for all businesses at each stage of their lifecycle.

Operations Director for 2020 Caroline Cox states: ‘The group offers the opportunity to bring your business issues to 2020 and where possible we lobby for better working conditions. The more businesses we can reach out to the more positive changes we can make in partnership that benefits our local economy.

2020 Board member and Chair of the Members group Kath Jephson states: ‘We encourage business leaders and members to use our platform for nurturing business growth.’
