Mansfield & Ashfield 2020 together we mean business

This is an important announcement for Mansfield Business Leaders:

Don’t get trapped in the digital slow lane!

You didn’t get where you are today by sitting and waiting for things to happen did you?! Why do it when waiting for better broadband then?

Mansfield is now 97% connected which means as a town we are ahead of the national targets. You have already heard how Mansfield 2020 along with their members lobbied for over 2 and half years for this to happen! The only thing left for M2020 to do is to encourage the business community to get connected!!

Operations Manager for M2020 Caroline Cox appeals to all businesses by stating ‘we will measure the success of this campaign by the feedback from our members that are getting connected! I would like to strongly stress to all businesses - the broadband you receive will not be upgraded automatically as a result of the recent installation of the fibre broadband infrastructure.

The infrastructure now in place is used by independent internet service providers (ISPs) to offer broadband service packages to customers. If you want more than what your current package delivers (one that offers faster speeds) you can choose any ISP that is able to offer you a package that meets your requirements. Councillor Diana Meale, Chair of Economic Development Committee at Nottinghamshire County Council stated: ‘All credit to M2020 for their campaign to improve Broadband speeds for Mansfield businesses. M2020 members know how the internet can make them more competitive nationally and internationally.’

Jephsons Shopfitters Commercial Director Ian Jephson commented on their new high speed connection ‘We are in an advantageous situation and puts a positive view on not just our organisation but the entire local business community.’

Hall Fast Industrial Supplies Malk Hall was part of the 2020 working group to lobby for better broadband commented on their new broadband speeds: ‘Hall-Fast operate a number of websites and at any time we have 5 people updating and adding information to them, having poor broadband speed has always been an issue for us; since we had high speed broadband installed in August we have been able to add new products and process orders a lot quicker, this has led us to recruit one new apprentice and we are also looking to recruit another.’

Mansfield maybe ahead of the national targets but we cannot improve our competitive edge if we don’t use this opportunity and pick up the phone to get connected!

Use the online postcode checker now, see if your business can start benefiting from better broadband today and you can also connect with service providers via the link using the Openreach infrastructure to serve their customers.
